This monolithic, concrete lake house in Switzerland sits high above Lago Maggiore in the town of Brissago, over looking the stunning mountainside landscape. The work of Italian architecture firm, Wespi de Meuron, this lakeside home has been designed to allow both outside and inside spaces to effectively flow into one another.
As the perfect summer house for those that like a view with their vacation and some solitude to their day, this solid, multi level home has both privacy and space for individuals to retreat to and open plan rooms that are conducive to congregation at various times throughout the day.
After parking the car on the very top floor and walking through a narrow alley that leads to a wooden entrance gate, a pebbled courtyard acts as the very first entry point to the home.
Beyond the courtyard lies the kitchen and dining areas that have been designed to open up entirely to the exterior while the interior spaces captures the spectacular view.
Beneath the kitchen and dining level lies the living room and library with a covered outdoor terrace and another courtyard with a framed, peaceful view of the local landscape.
Bedrooms, bathrooms, gym and sauna are all housed on the two lower levels of the home which connect directly to the garden and outlying swimming pool and outdoor kitchen.
